Health & Activity for Life

This comprehensive Health and Physical Education class is designed to introduce students to the knowledge and skills that are necessary to live physically active and healthy lives. The goal of this class is to create a foundation of health and physical education concepts and principles that students can use and grow with for a lifetime of healthy living.





Strength & Conditioning

This course will provide the foundation to further develop health and skilled related components of physical fitness. The emphasis will be on proper lifting techniques, spotting techniques, cardiovascular fitness, power, strength, and endurance drills.




Sport Specific Strength and Conditioning

This course will provide students with a foundation to further develop health and skilled related components of physical fitness. Students will engage in proper lifting techniques, spotting techniques, cardiovascular fitness, power, strength, and endurance drills. Using the Bigger, Faster, Stronger program students will be immersed into showing proficiency in all of the Colorado Comprehensive Health & Physical Education Standards with particular emphasis on safety, technique, record keeping and responsibility to self and others. Advanced Strength and Conditioning is an excellent course for student-athletes, as well as, those students who see themselves as leaders and/or are interested in pursuing careers in health, wellness and activity.





X- Fitness

Hinkley's most challenging Physical Education course will provide opportunities for students to progress and master skills in the health and skill related components of physical fitness. A wide variety of fitness activities will be taught including crossfit, tabata, weight training, P90x, P90x2, and circuit training. An emphasis will be placed on goal setting and personal improvement, rather than on competition with others. The ultimate goal of this course is to provide students with tools they can use to take their aerobic and anaerobic conditioning as well as nutrition.
